Trio of Twin Digit Scorers Help Carry Pioneers Past McHenry

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Looking to push its record in conference play above the .500 mark, the Prairie State men's basketball team knew that it would a well-balanced attack going into its Illinois Skyway Conference matchup with McHenry Tuesday night.
 
That's just what it received.
 
Paced by sophomore guard Chakaris London's 21-point outing, the Pioneers posted a 73-62 victory over the Scots at the PSC Fieldhouse.
 
With the win, PSC moved to 7-11 overall and 2-1 in league play.
 
London shot of 9-of-20 from the field and knocked down a pair of three pointers along with five rebounds.
 
In addition to London, the Pioneers also picked up a 15-point, five-assist night from sophomore Daniel Mordi (Richards H.S.).
 
Sophomore guard Anthony Vaval (Brooks H.S.) added 12 points and pulled down five rebounds while making with a pair of steals.
 
PSC led 38-30 at halftime and outscored the Scots 35-32 over the final 20 minutes in a game that witnessed 11 lead changes and seven ties. 
 
The Pioneers established their largest lead of the contest at 62-45 courtesy of a Vaval trey with 10:18 to play.
 
The Pioneers will see action next on Thursday when they take on local rival Moraine Valley in Palos Hills (7:15 p.m.).
