McHenry Topples Pioneers on Road

CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. --- Despite another strong wire-to-wire effort, the Prairie State women's basketball team fell to  Illinois Skyway Conference counterpart McHenry 74-61 Tuesday night.
 
The loss dropped the Pioneers' overall record to 5-16 with a 1-6 mark in conference action.
 
Leading the charge on the offensive side for PSC was freshman guard Chanteze Holland (Morton Senior H.S.).  The 5-foot-6 Holland deposited a team-high 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field.
 
In all, three Pioneers scored in double figures as freshmen Taniya Cothrine-Evans (South Beloit H.S.) and Renasia Adams (Hillcrest H.S.) each tallied 10 points.    
 
Freshman forward Quinn Fehr (Bishop Noll Institute) paced PSC on both the offensive and defensive glass, snaring eight rebounds.
 
Sophomore point guard Alyssa Quinones (Whiting H.S.) dropped in seven points while handing out a team-best seven assists.
 
PSC will see action next on Thursday when it travels to Elgin for a 5:15 road date with the Spartans.
