CHICAGO - Prairie State rallied in the fourth quarter but couldn't come all the way back in a 68-64 loss at Wright on Saturday.
The Pioneers trailed by three heading to the break and had to play catch up for the majority of the second half. Prairie State got within three in the final minute but could not close the gap.Â
Riley Gaynor led Prairie State (3-4) on the comeback trail with a game-high 21 points. Gaynor hit four 3-pointers in nine attempts.Â
Kimani Thornton was also excellent for the Pioneers scoring 20 points and grabbing five rebounds.
Gia Wright reached double digits with 12 points and narrowly missed a double-double with a team high nine rebounds.Â
Cymone Brown led Prairie State with four assists. Thornton, Brown, and Gaynor each had three steals.
Prairie State will play at Kankakee Community College on Tuesday.
