Box Score KANKAKEE - Prairie State held a double-digit lead in the second half but couldn't hold it in a 75-65 overtime loss on Wednesday.
The Pioneers (5-3) led by 10 but allowed three consecutive 3-pointers by the Cavaliers. Prairie State had the last shot of regulation but couldn't hit a three from deep.Â
The Pioneers didn't score in overtime.
Jared Johnson turned in 31 points and eight rebounds to lead Prairie State.
Rashaad Williams added 13 points while Bfrelon Hill had 10. Williams led the Pioneers with two steals. Johnson, Hill and Wil Mendez each had four assists.Â
Prairie State played excellent defense in the first half holding the Cavaliers to only 26 points. The stout defense helped the Pioneers to a seven-point lead heading into the locker room.
Prairie State will play next Thursday against Ancilla College.Â
