CHICAGO HEIGHTS - Prairie State had control of the game for three quarters but faltered late in a 49-39 loss against Kennedy-King on Tuesday.
The Pioneers led by five points heading into the fourth quarter, but the Statesmen scored the first three baskets of the quarter to take the lead. Overall, Prairie State was outscored 21-6 in the quarter.Â
Prairie State (3-6) led by eight at halftime after a dominant second quarter.Â
Riley Gaynor did the majority of the scoring for Prairie State with 20 points while nailing five 3-pointers.
Kierra Reeves had 13 rebounds and three steals for the Pioneers.
Prairie State will play at Ancilla on Thursday.
