Prairie State Pushes Elgin to Five Sets

ELGIN --- Prairie State was resilient but could not win a decisive fifth set in a 3-2 (25-27, 25-20, 25-16, 19-25, 15-9) loss at Elgin on Wednesday.

Kimani Thornton led the Pioneers (2-4, 0-2 Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference) with eight kills while Geonna Wright added seven. Eyvette Webb led the squad with 15 digs while Emily Stein had 11 and Thornton had 10 digs. Danryen Doyle and Thornton each had four blocks.

Annalise Robinson had four aces while Alexis Robinson and Wright each had a pair.

Prairie State will host Kankakee on Thursday.
