Box Score GRAYSLAKE - College of Lake County gave Prairie State all it wanted including nailing an acrobatic 3-pointer from near half court at the halftime buzzer. 

However, the Pioneers weathered the Lake County storm and pulled out a 69-64 victory in Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference play on Tuesday.

Jared Johnson did a lot of the weathering for the Pioneers (15-7, 5-2) racking up a robust 35 points and 27 rebounds.

Sophomore Tyler Houston (13) and Rashaad Williams (12) each reached double digits. Breion Hill added nine rebounds while Houston led with four assists and three steals.  

Prairie State was up by as many as 10 but couldn't pull away from a scrappy Lake County squad.

The Pioneers will host Morton on Thursday.
