Box Score CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL. - Big players make big plays.
Prairie State needed the leading scorer in the country to make a play at the end of its Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference matchup against Waubonsee. That's exactly what sophomore
Jared Johnson did.Â
The Chiefs held the All-American candidate for most of the game but Johnson drilled a contested 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining helping the Pioneers to a 78-76 victory. The win is the ninth consecutive win for Prairie State.Â
The Pioneers trailed for much of the game but finally took the lead when Wil Mendez hit 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions to give his team its first lead of the second half.
