CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Prairie State guard
Jared Johnson gave the biggest crowd of the year a show in his final game at the PSC Fieldhouse.
The sophomore lit up Wright College in the Region IV quarterfinal round doing whatever he wanted all game long in an 85-69 victory. By virtue of the win, Prairie State will play in the Region IV semifinals on Sunday at 2 P.M. against Bryant & Stratton and McHenry County College.
Johnson scored a game-high 37 points including 24 in the first half helping the Pioneers to a 17-point lead. Johnson's 12 rebounds gave him a double-double.
Prairie State (22-8) cruised in the second half as
Rashaad Williams had one of his best games of the season scoring 23 points. Williams hit 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions extending his team's lead to 25 points.
Will Mendez had a season-high nine assists while
Tyler Houston added seven.
Breion Hill reached double figures with 12 points and added eight rebounds.
The Pioneer defense was excellent as it forced 19 turnovers. Williams led the squad with three steals.
