Box Score CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Prairie State has waited a long time to start its season.

With the wait over, they started out just the way they would like. 

The 15th ranked Pioneers cruised to a 9-0 victory over Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference rival Elgin.

Mohamed Elshafie got the Pioneers on the board at the less than two minutes in with an unassisted goal and finished with two goals on the day. The goal started a barrage of scoring for the Pioneers (1-0, 1-0 ISCC). In the 14th minute, Lapo Carradori gave Prairie State a 2-0 lead. It was the first of two goals for Carradori.

Romulo Dorea finished after a sweet pass from Elshafie. Elshafie assisted on the next goal which was scored by returning star Antonio Leal. Leal scored three goals on the day. 

Elian Munoz knocked home a penalty kick for a goal and added two assists on the day.

The Pioneers won't have much rest as they travel to Morton on Tuesday.
