Shawnee State Upends PSC

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio --- In preparation for both the NJCAA Region 4 and Illinois Skyway Conference schedules, the Prairie State tennis team continued its tradition of playing tough, four-year opponents on March 10.

The 20^th ranked Pioneers took on Shawnee State University, falling in a well-played match 4-1 on the Bears' campus.

PSC freshman David Voinea was the sole Pioneer to win a match, scoring a 6-0, 6-3 triumph at third singles.

"This could have been a 4-3 match, since we were involved in very close matches at number two and number 6 singles when the team score was clinched by Shawnee State," PSC head coach Donn Gobbie said.
