Kankakee Clips PSC on Road

KANKAKEE, Ill. --- Freshman guard Xavier Sulaiman (Oak Lawn H.S.) delivered 25 points and three other Pioneers scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the Prairie State men's basketball team fell to NJCAA Region 4 counterpart Kankakee 88-74.
 
The loss dropped the Pioneers' overall record to 5-7 on the campaign.
 
Sulaiman notched his fifth contest of 20-plus points and did it courtesy of a huge effort from the free throw line, where he shot 14-of-16.  He also went 5-of-12 from the field with a three-pointer. 
 
The 6-foot-3 Sulaiman paced PSC on the glass as well, hauling down a team-high five rebounds.
 
Freshman guard Dwayne Flowers (Chi Prep) added 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor.  He also knocked down a pair of trifectas and went 3-of-4 from the charity stripe.
 
Freshman forward Ryan Clemons (Homewood-Flossmoor H.S.) and freshman guard Darien Green (Christ the King College Prep) each delivered 10-point outings.  Green pulled down four rebounds.
 
The Pioneers trialed 42-35 at half and were outscored 46-39 over the final 20 minutes.
 
PSC will hit the hardwood next on Thursday when they travel to Malta for a road date with Kishwaukee (7:30 p.m.).
