Well-Balanced Effort Leads the Way to Win Over Oakton

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Fueled by a pair of 20-plus-point efforts from sophomore forward Victor Brown (Rich Township H.S.) and Xavier Sulaiman (Oak Lawn H.S.), the Prairie State men's basketball team delivered a 96-89 victory over Illinois Skyway Conference counterpart Oakton Tuesday night at the PSC Fieldhouse.
 
The win elevated the Pioneers' record to 10-16 overall and 3-7 in league play. 
 
Brown led all scorers courtesy of his 15th double-double of the campaign.  The 6-foot-8 front court player tallied 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting.  He also tore down 12 rebounds.  He also blocked a pair of shots and made off with two steals.
 
Sulaiman contributed a 21-point showing thanks to a 6-of-15 effort form the field and 6-of-6 display from the free throw line.
 
Freshman forward Orlin Nesbitt (Beecher H.S.) added 13 points as well.
 
Point guard Javery Johnson (Homewood-Flossmoor H.S.) recorded ten assists as well.
 
PSC lead 53-44 at the break.
 
The Pioneers will see action next on Thursday when they face Lake County in Grayslake (7:15 p.m.).
