The Pioneers showed their toughness making several key plays down the stretch taking an 80-76 decision on Thursday.
Standout 
Jared Johnson had several key, acrobatic traditional 3-point plays including one in the final 30 seconds to put the game on ice for Prairie State.
Sophomore 
Tyler Houston hit a big 3-pointer to break a tie with just over a minute to go. The defense forced several key turnovers. Johnson stole an inbounds pass on a possession where Olive-Harvey could have tied with about 40 seconds remaining.
Johnson had only six points at the break but finished with a game-high 29 and grabbed 11 rebounds. He was two assists short of a triple-double with eight and was virtually unstoppable in the second half.
Houston finished with 17 while 
Rashaad Williams and 
Brelon Hill each had 10 points.
Prairie State (5-2) will travel to Kankakee Community College on Tuesday.
