Box Score 4 SOUTH HOLLAND, IL --- Prairie State volleyball had a solid return to action going 2-2 at the South Suburban Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
The Pioneers picked up wins against Olive-Harvey and Malcolm X while falling to Milwaukee Area Technical College and host South Suburban. Prairie State defeated Olive-Harvey 3-0 (25-17, 25-15 and 25-14). The Pioneers defeated Malcolm X 3-1 (18-25, 29-27, 25-21, 25-15).
Prairie State lost to South Suburban 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-20) and 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-23) to Milwaukee Area Technical College.
Kimani Thornton led the way for the Pioneers with 26 kills while Emily Ann Stein had 22. Annalise Robinson also had 20 kills over the four matches for Prairie State. Annalise Robinson and Alexis Robinson spearheaded the offense with 47 and 30 assists, respectively. The pair of sisters both had nine aces to lead the squad.
Eyvette Webb led the Pioneers defensively with 62 digs. Geonna Wright was a force at the net with 11 blocks in four matches.
Prairie State will open up Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference play at Waubonsee on Wednesday.
