Box Score CHICAGO HEIGHTS - Prairie State played solid after the first set but couldn't get over the hump in a 3-0 (25-14, 25-22, 25-21) loss to Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference foe College of Lake County on Wednesday. 

The Pioneers gave the fans a nice showing at the team's home opener rallying from large deficits in the second and third sets but couldn't finish off the Lancers. 

 Geonna Wright led the Pioneers with nine kills while Kimani Thorton added eight. Prairie State (2-7, 0-4) was led in assists by Alexis Robinson with nine and in digs by Eyvette Webb (18).

The Pioneers will play next Wednesday at home against Morton.
