Box Score SUGAR GROVE, IL - Prairie State badly needed an Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference victory to stay near the top.
The Pioneers delivered in resounding fashion with an 81-64 victory at Waubonsee on Thursday.
Prairie State advanced to 14-7 and 4-2 in the Skyway.Â
Once again, the squad was led by
Jared Johnson, who is putting together an All-American caliber season. The sophomore scored a game-high 32 points including 11 in the middle of a 14-2 Prairie State run which negated the Chiefs' 9-0 run to start the game. Johnson had three 3-pointers during the stretch. He also finished the contest with 17 rebounds.
Breion Hill had a bounce back game delivering a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Tyler Houston was solid distributing the basketball piling up a team-high seven assists. He also scored 15 points and grabbed eight boards.
Rashaad Williams (12) and
Will Mendez (11) each reached double digits in scoring.Â
The Pioneers led by seven at halftime and were able to cruise to a win in the second half.
Prairie State will play at College of Lake County on Tuesday.
