Box Score CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Prairie State played tight with Danville all game but couldn't make enough plays in the end to win.
The Pioneers fell to Danville 85-77 on Saturday.
Prairie State got within four in the final minute but couldn't get enough defensive stops down the stretch. Danville shot over 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from behind the arc.
Jared Johnson led with 28 points while
Breion Hill had 22 for the Pioneers. Hill's 12 rebounds gave him a double-double.
Tyler Houston (13) and
Humza Robinson (10) each reached double digits in points. Robinson and
Will Mendez each had six assists for the Pioneers.
The Pioneers (10-5) trailed by six heading into halftime.
Prairie State will open its Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference slate at Morton on Tuesday.
