Box Score CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - Prairie State's stifling defense has been the culprit of the team's recent winning streak.
Thursday's game at McHenry County was no different.
Prairie State was dominant defensively in a 72-62 win over the Scots. The win was the eighth in a row for the Pioneers.
Prairie State (20-7, 10-2 Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference) was led by
Breion Hill's six blocks and 18 rebounds. Hill's 22 points gave him a double-double.
Rashaad Williams had three steals which led to breakaway layups and added a pair of blocks.
Jared Johnson was his usual self. He scored a game-high 25 points and added 10 rebounds. Prairie State had a six-point lead heading into halftime. The Scots stayed right with the Pioneers until Johnson hit a late 3-pointer to ice the win.
Prairie State will square off against Waubonsee on Tuesday and close the regular season slate against College of Lake County on Thursday.
