Ethen Otstott fired 7 1/3 outstanding innings helping the Pioneers to a 7-5 victory over Triton on Wednesday. The win snaps a four-game losing streak.
Otstott was in control all game long surrendering only two earned runs on five hits. He struck out three hitters to pick up the win.Â
Devin Smith came in and shut the door down over the final 1 1/3 innings.Â
The Pioneers led wire-to-wire having scored the first six runs of the game.
Gabe Cortez drove in the first run of the game with one of his team-high three hits. He also drove in two runs. Smith drove in two more with a first-inning double. Smith also drove in another run with a bases loaded walk.
Prairie State (4-25) was patient at the plate drawing seven walks.Â
