CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - When Prairie State and South Suburban get together, its always super competitive.
Saturday afternoon was no different.
The Pioneers trailed by two at halftime but rallied to force a 3-3 tie.
Elian Munoz scored in the 87th minute to tie the game. All-American
Antonio Leal hit Munoz with a beautiful pass in the middle of the field. Munoz buried it to force the tie.
Leal scored two goals of his own including the game's first goal seven minutes in. Leal made a run past two Bulldog defenders and beat the keeper for an easy goal. He scored again about 20 minutes into the second half with assists from
El Kati Taoufik and
Jose Rico. Rico finished with two assists.
The Pioneers will host Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference rival Moraine Valley on Tuesday.
