Pioneers Fall to Milwaukee Tech on Road

MILWAUKEE, Wis. --- Despite a 22-point effort from sophomore guard Wade Sims (Thornridge H.S.) and career-high 14-tally showing from sophomore Chakaris London (Homewood-Flossmoor H.S.), the Prairie State men's basketball team was unable to post a victory Saturday afternoon.
 
The Pioneers fell to NJCAA Region 4 foe Milwaukee Tech 73-63 in Milwaukee.
 
The setback dropped PSC's overall record to 2-5 on the campaign.
 
Sims shot 8-of-18 from the field and pulled down five rebounds while making off with five steals.
 
London knocked down a pair of three-pointers while securing six rebounds. 
 
Sophomore forward Antonio Phillips (Crete-Monee H.S.) added eight points and tore down 11 rebounds.  Sophomore guard Anthony Vaval (Brooks Academy) also tallied eight points while dishing out three assists.
 
Both teams went to the locker room knotted at 34.
 
Milwaukee Tech, who outrebounded the Pioneers 59-36, outscored PSC 39-29 over the contests final 20 minutes.
 
The Pioneers hit the road on Tuesday for a road date against Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, Michigan (7 p.m.).
