Southwestern Michigan Upend Pioneers on Road

DOWAGIAC, Mich. --- Sophomore forward Antonio Phillips (Crete-Monee H.S.) provided the type of veteran performance that has become his trademark, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough as the Prairie State men's basketball team fell to Southwestern Michigan 75-66 Tuesday evening.
 
The setback dropped the Pioneers to 2-8 on the campaign.
 
The 6-foot-3 Phillips paced PSC with a 16-point effort.  He also pulled down 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the slate.
 
Phillips shot 7-of-10 from the field and also handed out four assists.
 
Prairie State's only other scorer in double figures was sophomore forward Daniel Mordi (Richards H.S.) and his 12-point showing. 
 
PSC also picked up strong outings from sophomore guard Anthony Vaval (Brooks Academy), (9 points, 4 assists) and sophomore forward Brandon Landfair (Hinsdale South H.S.), (9 points, 2 rebounds).
 
After a see-saw first half, PSC trailed 35-29 at the intermission.
