Sulaiman’s 26 Not Enough as Pioneers Fall to Morton at Home

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Freshman guard Xavier Sulaiman (Oak Lawn H.S.) delivered a 26-point outing and two other Pioneers scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as the Prairie State men's basketball team fell to Illinois Skyway Conference counterpart Morton 79-66 at the PSC Fieldhouse Tuesday night.
 
The setback dropped the Pioneers' record to 9-16 with a 2-7 showing in Skyway action.
 
Despite winning the turnover battle (20-13) and trialing just by a point at the intermission, the Pioneers fell to the Panthers for the second time this season.
 
Sulaiman tallied in double figures for the 17th time this season.  Tuesday's outing marked his 10th of 20-plus points as well.
 
The 6-foot-3 Sulaiman also pulled down eight rebounds in the tilt.
 
PSC also picked up a strong 18-point effort from sophomore Victor Brown (Rich Township H.S.) following a 6-of-9 shooting effort from the field.  The 6-foot-8 Brown delivered his 14th double-double of the slate.
 
Freshman Darien Green (Christ the King College Prep) chipped in 10 points as well.
 
The Pioneers will hit the floor next on Thursday when they travel to Waubonsee (7:15 p.m.).
