Arch Rival Moraine Valley Drops Pioneers at Home

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Despite its typical all-out effort, the Prairie State women's soccer team was unable to garner a win Wednesday, falling to archrival Moraine Valley 5-0 at the Pioneers Sports Complex.

The setback dropped the Pioneers overall record to 1-5 with an 0-3 showing in league action.

PSC put three shots on frame with sophomore Mia Ortiz (North Grand H.S.) recording a shot on goal and freshman Ivana Rubio (Prepa Idel H.S., MEXICO) registering two.

The Pioneers put up an outstanding defensive front over the first 45 minutes and entering the intermission down just 1-0.

Limited numbers with no bench players available took its toll in the second half as the Cyclones tallied four unanswered markers.

Sophomore goal keeper Priscilla Blemano (Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School, CANADA) made 12 strong saves between the posts.

The Pioneers will see action next on Thursday when they travel to local foe South Suburban for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
