Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DIXON, IL - Prairie State took a late lead in the sixth inning of Game 1 but couldn't hold it in a 5-4 loss to Sauk Valley. The Pioneers fell behind early in Game 2 and never recovered as Sauk Valley won 10-2 in the night cap.

The Pioneers took advantage of Sauk Valley's wildness on the mound scoring three runs in the sixth with the help of multiple wild pitches. The three runs gave the Pioneers a three-run advantage, but Sauk Valley came storming back. 

A pair of doubles knotted the game at four in the bottom half of the inning before Sauk Valley won on a two-out, walkoff single.

Isaiah Gaines threw 6 2/3 innings giving up five earned runs while striking out 10. Gaines also had a triple for the only Prairie State hit.

Defense let the Pioneers down early as Sauk Valley scored seven unearned runs in the first. 

Nico Pena had a season-high three hits while Isaac Rivera and Gaines each had a pair of hits for the Pioneers (0-8). 

Mike Denton threw two innings of scoreless relief for Prairie State.
