Box Score 2 CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL - Prairie State was unable to salvage a victory in a Sunday doubleheader against Moraine Valley.
The Pioneers fell to the Cyclones 13-2 in six innings in the opener and 16-2 in five innings in the nightcap.

Prairie State was able to tie the game in the third inning on an
Isaiah Gaines RBI.Â
However, Moraine Valley came back and put up five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Pioneers (0-13) never recovered from the Cyclones' rally.Â
Chasen Lewis and
Jimmy Boylan had the two other hits for Prairie State.Â
Ethen Otstott took the loss pitching five innings for the Pioneers.
Moraine Valley 16, Prairie State 2 (5 inn.)
Prairie State allowed nine runs in the second inning and was unable to battle back.
Gabe Cortez,
Leo Romero and Gaines accounted for the three Prairie State hits. Cortez recorded the only RBI for Prairie State.Â
The Pioneers will square off against Morton on Wednesday.
