Box Score 2 MALTA, IL - Prairie State had its opportunities to beat Kishwaukee but was unable to come out with a win.
The Pioneers led heading to the bottom of the sixth in Game 1 but Kishwaukee scored three times and took an 8-7 decision. Prairie State played tough with Kishwaukee in the second game but was unable to pull out a win losing 8-5 in the night cap.
Kishwaukee 8, Prairie State 7
Prairie State erupted for four runs in the top of the sixth to take control of the game before surrendering the lead in the bottom half of the frame.
Chasen Lewis drove in a run to get the Pioneers within one and
CJ Seymour tripled in two runs giving Prairie State the lead.
Scott Gates singled home Seymour as an insurance run.
Unfortunately, Kishwaukee scored three times in the bottom half to reclaim the lead. The Pioneers got the tying run on in the seventh but couldn't push him across.Â
Lewis, Gates and Pena each had two hits for Prairie State while
Mike Denton threw a scoreless inning.

Prairie State held the lead in Game 2 as well scoring four times in the fourth.
Felipe Martinez drove in the first run of the frame.
Jimmy Boylan tripled home a pair to give Prairie State (4-36) the lead. Boylan scored on an error putting Prairie State up two.
Kishwaukee scored single runs in the fourth and the fifth innings to tie the game before erupting for four runs in the sixth to put the game away. Despite trailing by four in the seventh, Prairie State pushed across a run and had the tying run at the plate but couldn't get the big hit it needed.
Lewis had two hits in the game and stole five bases on the day for the Pioneers.
