No. 20 Moraine Valley Gets Past PSC

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. --- The Prairie State volleyball team was unable to garner a win against one of the nation's top programs Wednesday evening, falling to NJCAA No. 20 Moraine Valley at the Prairie State Fieldhouse.

The Pioneers fell in straight sets 25-11, 25-9 and 25-10.

With the setback, PSC saw its record dip to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in Illinois Skyway Conference play.

Setting the pace for the Pioneers was freshman outside hitter Lola Eckhardt (Beecher H.S.), who hammered down four kills. She also picked up two digs.

Freshman outside hitter Kaylin Buczkowski (Illiana Christian H.S.) put down three kills.

Freshman setter Samantha De Laurentis (St. Laurence H.S.) handed out eight assists.

The Pioneers will see action next on Saturday at the St. Louis Community College Tournament in St. Louis, Mo.
