Morton Drops Pioneers at Home

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Prairie State women's soccer team, despite its typical all-out efforts, was unable to take down a tough Morton squad Wednesday, falling to the Panthers 5-0 at the Pioneer Sports Complex.

With the setback, PSC saw its season record dip to 2-8 overall and 0-6 in Illinois Skyway Conference action.

PSC put three shots on goal but was unable to convert on any.  The Pioneers' best scoring opportunities came from sophomore forward Shamia Stinchcombe-Brown (York Memorial Collegiate Institute, CANADA)  who unleashed a long blast in the 54th minute which sailed high over the crossbar as well as freshman forward Pricilla Blemano (Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School, CANADA) who produced an almost identical shot in the 61st.

Morton led 3-0 at the intermission before tacking on a pair of second-half tallies.

PSC sophomore goalkeeper Lily Sanchez (Argo H.S.) made 11 stops during the match.

The Pioneers will see action next on October 20 when they square off against Kankakee on Sophomore Day at the Pioneer Sports Complex (1:30 p.m.).
