Wozny’s Big Day Sets the Pace for PSC

GRAYSLAKE, Ill. --- After being shutout for the fourth time on the young season, following a tough 1-0 loss to St. Clair Community College of Michigan on Saturday the Prairie State men's soccer team was searching for an answer.

Sophomore defender Oliver Wozny (Conant H.S.) provided an answer.

Wozny's pair of goals lifted the Pioneers to a 3-0 victory over Illinois Skyway Conference counterpart Lake County Tuesday.

The win pushed PSC's overall mark to 2-4 with a league record of 1-1.

Wozny, who also contributed an assist later in the match, tallied his first marker in the 25^th minute.

The Pioneers took that lead into the intermission before Wozny struck again, this time courtesy of a strong pass off the foot of defender Seydou Gori (Lycee Jacques Prevert H.S., FRANCE) in the 70^th.

Sophomore forward Mateo Nabona (IFC Valence H.S., FRANCE) notched PSC's third tally in the 76^th thanks to Wozny's helper.

Sophomore goalkeeper Goncalo Tomas (Escola Secundaria Camoes H.S., PORTUGAL) stopped all five shots he faced in going the distance between the posts.

The Pioneers will see action next on Thursday when they host local rival South Suburban at the Pioneer Sports Complex (4 p.m.).
