Waubonsee Sweeps PSC at Home

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Despite a strong effort, the Prairie State softball team was unable to garner a win Wednesday, falling in both ends of an Illinois Skyway Conference double header with Waubonsee.
 
The Pioneers dropped both ends of the twin bill by final tallies of 11-0 and 13-1 at the Pioneer Sports Complex.
 
The setbacks dipped PSC's overall record to 1-15 with a 1-3 mark in league action.
 
Prairie State faced an amazing pitching performance in Game 1 and could only muster five base runners and did not record a hit.
 
PSC scattered five hits in the nightcap as freshman shortstop Evalyn Servin (Bloom H.S.) went 2-for-3.
 
Freshman catcher Isabella Shippen (Portage H.S., INDIANA) went 2-for-3 with PSC's only extra-base hit (double).
 
The Pioneers scored their lone tally when freshman Maeve Koeppen (Lake Central H.S, INDIANA) drove home freshman Morgan Niedzwiedz (Bishop McNamara H.S.).
 
PSC will hit the field next on Thursday when it travels to Lake County for a Skyway date with the Lancers (3 p.m.) in Grayslake.
