Unfortunately, it wasn't enough in a 14-8 loss to Joliet Junior College on Thursday.
The Pioneers (4-37) had a solid offensive output led by
Chasen Lewis who knocked the ball all around the yard. He had three hits including a triple.
After giving up six runs in the top of the fourth, Prairie State scored three times in the bottom half of the inning to cut the team's deficit to three runs. The Pioneers scored twice on wild pitches and
Gabe Cortez drove in the third run of the frame.
Isaiah Gaines threw two scoreless innings for Prairie State.
The Pioneers will take on Highland in their season finale on Saturday.
