CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. --- If not for a rough 29-second patch during the second half, the Prairie State men's soccer team would have walked off its home field with a victory Tuesday afternoon.
 
Instead, during those 25 seconds, Oakton tallied a pair of goals, allowing the Owls to slip past PSC 3-2 at the Pioneers Sports Complex.
 
With the setback, Prairie State fell to 5-5-2 overall and 4-2 in Illinois Skyway Conference action.
 
Oakton grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 22
nd minute and possessed the ball for much of the opening half.
 
The Pioneers struck back with 28 seconds remaining before the intermission when freshman defender 
Seydou Gori (Lycee Jacques Prevert H.S., FRANCE) found the back of the net, giving the Pioneers massive momentum heading into the break.
 
The Pioneers then took a 2-1 lead when freshman defender 
Dylan Mitchell converted a penalty kick for a score in the 58
th.
 
The Owls converted a PK of their own with 11:49 to play in the match, before notching the game winner 29 seconds later.
 
PSC sophomore goal keeper 
Goncalo Tomas (Escola Secundaria Camoes H.S., PORTUGAL) made four saves in the match.
 
PSC will hit the pitch next on Saturday when they travel to Wisconsin to take on Bryant and Stratton in a 3 p.m. start in Wauwatosa.
