Pioneers Battle Hard, Fall to Kennedy-King on Road

CHICAGO, Ill. --- Freshman forward Quinn Fehr (Bishop Noll Institute) and sophomore guard Alyssa Quinones (Whiting H.S.) tallied 18 and 10 points respectively and freshman forward Azariah Love (Hillcrest H.S.) added 12 off the bench, but it wasn't enough as the Prairie State women's basketball team fell 72-62 to Kennedy-King Saturday.

Quinones shots 3-of-9 from the field with a pair of three-pointers.  She also pulled down four rebounds and dished out four assists.

Fehr went 6-of-13 from the floor with all of her tallies coming from behind the arc as she knocked down six three-pointers.  She also hauled down five rebounds, made off with a pair of steals and blocked a shot.

Love shot a strong 6-of-10 from the field and paced PSC with a monstrous 14-rebound showing for her first double-double of the slate.  She also blocked a pair of shots.

The Pioneers fell to 0-6 with the setback.

PSC trailed 22-13 after one quarter and 35-29 at the break.

The Pioneers will see action next when they host South Suburban Thursday night on "Veterans Appreciation Night" at the PSC Fieldhouse (5 p.m.).
