Pioneers Battle Carl Sandburg to Scoreless Draw

CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. --- One inch. Maybe less.

One inch lower and Prairie State sophomore center mid Kahlelo Tjane (Durban North College, SOUTH AFRICA) rocket from 30 yards out in the 79^th minute Sunday, wouldn't have hit the crossbar and ricocheted straight down landing just outside of the goal line.

The shot represented PSC's best scoring chance of a sweltering afternoon of hard-fought soccer as the Pioneers played to a scoreless draw with NJCAA Region 4 counterpart Carl Sandburg at the Pioneer Sports Complex.

In all, PSC put three shots on goal.

The draw brings the Pioneers' record to 3-4-1.

Goncalo Tomas (Escola Secundaria Camoes H.S., PORTUGAL) made three saves in the match.

PSC Will see action next on Tuesday when they travel to Moraine Valley for a 4 p.m. tilt against the Cyclones.
