Blemano Stops 17 as Pioneers Fall to Lake County

GRAYSLAKE, Ill. --- The Prairie State women's soccer team, despite a strong effort, was unable to garner a win Wednesday, falling to Lake County 8-0 in an Illinois Skyway Conference match in Grayslake.

With the setback, the Pioneers dropped to 0-3 on the campaign.

Lake County took a 5-0 lead into the intermission before tallying another three times over the final 45 minutes.

Freshman goal keeper Priscilla Blemano (Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School, CANADA) turned away 17 shots in the contest.

The Pioneers will see action next on Wednesday when they square off against Skyway counterpart Waubonsee at the Pioneer Sports Complex (4 p.m.).
