Morton Bests PSC By a Tally

CICERO, Ill. --- Despite a strong overall game from sophomore forward Victor Brown (Rich Township H.S.), the Prairie State men's basketball team suffered a tough setback Thursday evening, falling to Illinois Skyway Conference counterpart Morton 76-75 in Cicero.

The setback dropped the Pioneers' overall record to 7-10 overall and 1-1 in Skyway action.

The 6-foot-8 Brown led all scorers with 21 points while also ripping down a game-high 13 rebounds.

Brown shot 8-of-16 from the field and 6-of-8 from the free throw line.

PSC's only other double-digit scorer was freshman Xavier Sulaiman (Oak Lawn H.S.) who tallied 19 points while securing seven rebounds and making off with four steals.

The Pioneers trailed 37-34 at the intermission but outscored the Panthers 41-39 over the contests' final twenty minutes.

PSC will see action next on Saturday when it travels to Wright College for a road tilt against the Rams in Chicago (3 p.m.).
